Weekend Photo Dump!

HELLO? Anyone still out there??

hahahahhahaha

Although my lack of posting proves otherwise, I AM ALIVE!

I stepped away from the computer since my parents visited this past weekend. They came down for a fun reunion and since my dad was racing in his first ever half marathon!! WOOO!!!! I plan to write up an interview kind of post later this week sometime with the recap/race details, but I will give a spoiler– he finished strong even in the midst of some GNARLY conditions!

But more pics and info on that later :D

I didn’t have any time to write up a progress post for this week– but everything’s pretty much the same. Feelin great, makin progress, all that schpeel :D I DO have a big update regarding training for yall next week though…

BUUUTTTT since I’m yet again slammed with work this week, I thought I’d share some recent pics from life lately.

  1. Haha, that’s so funny that you have a racoon living in your apartment’s dumpster! I know what you mean about going out to eat–we rarely go out unless it’s a special occasion! Sometimes it is so great to just sit and have food cooked for you, though!

  2. Congrats to your dad for his first half!!! That is such an accomplishment! I’m excited to hear how he liked it! :)

I’ve never found a raccoon in a dumpster buuuut I have found some crazy stuff on runs before! My team used to find hubcaps, random articles of clothing (always grody!), and loose change. One time I found $1.27 in change and a steak knife. o.0. Coach was always so pleased when we brought him back presents! ;)

That toast topper looks SO AWESOME! Where can I get one?! I hope you’re doing awesome!!

  3. haha Raccoons freak me out! Congrats to your dad for completing his half marathon that is EPIC!

Vibrams are essential for life and any workout. bahhaha I wear them to work everyday and everyone gives me weird looks and i’m all -You don’t even know-

  4. Woop! Congrats to your dad on his half! And I LOVE that cake that you made him. You’re just too freakin cute, girl <3 And so is that egg shaper… Omigosh I -want-. The weirdest thing I've found in a dumpster? Hmm. Couches? Mattresses? It actually weirds me out more to find random pieces of clothing laying on the side of the road… like one shoe, or a sock, or a pair of boxers… It's like, was a person being chased or something so that they couldn't stop to pick up their shoe? Were they undressing on the side of the road? Maybe I'm better off not knowing…

  5. Congrats to your dad for finishing strong!! I’m looking forward to that interview!

Oh my goodness, raccoons scare the bejeezus out of me! When I was 12, a raccoon family decided to lay claim to the foundation under our house. We could hear them wrestling around, and they’d always scream at each other (yes–they scream!) in them middle of the night! We had to hire professional raccoon capturers to come get them out, and boy was it nasty. They were hissing like crazy! I used to think they were cute, but not anymore. Oh noooo.

That toast top egg shaper most definitely IS the best invention ever! I need that–especially since I recently found a GF bread that I love! I see lots of perfect egg McMuffin-esque sandwiches in my future.

Hope you’re having a fantastic week so far! xoxo <3

  6. Congrats to your dad on his half marathon! It’s awesome that you have such active parents. :)

Also those dehydrated apples look so good! I bet homemade ones are so much better than store bought ones. I just saw your comment to Sarah – I’ll have to check out BB&B for a dehydrator because I’ve been wanting one for ages!

  7. “He hisses..” BAHAH I don’t know WHY that part cracked me up SO bad, but it did. What a legit living space for a raccoon!! SO proud of your dad, congrats to him and yay for the homemade cake! I am further more convinced we will one day be the best of friends and go for walks in our Vibrams..and you can show me how to lift weights haha.

  8. Can’t wait to discover the recipe of this gorgeous cake, looks soooooooooo yummy!

Why Outbacks’s brocoli taste that good? Are they sauted in some lovely oil and spices? I definitely have to try that restaurant, never been there…

And your homemade dried apples are perfection ;) Delicious dipped in any nut butter!

    • There’s just something about the flavor of the broccoli–it just tastes SO fresh!! I LOVE it!! You definitely gotta go :)
And how on earth could I not have thought to dip dried apple in nut butter!! You are genius! :D

  9. Ooo, can’t wait to hear this training update! AND GO DAD for running a half–totally worth a giant pile of celebratory cashews. And my workout essentials? Booty shorts. Can’t lift without ‘em. Well, I can, but it wouldn’t be nearly as fun…

  10. Woo congratulations to your dad! I’m really looking forward to your training update – you always inspire me so much with them :-)

I’m glad you had a great time with your parents and that you had a lovely restaurant meal!
