guys…
I AM SO STOKED FOR CLASSES TO START TOMORROW!!!!!
Here’s my schedule:
- Principles of Ecology
- Invertebrate Zoology
- Ecology Lab
- Invertebrate Zoology Lab
- Texas Political Science (core class gag me)
- History pre-1865 (more core eww)
- Professional Skills in the Biology field (1 day a week)
I was telling my parents the other day that I haven’t been this excited for school since kindergarten. I can relate A LOT to Haley’s latest post, I’m finally happy. Not only am I finally starting to take classes more geared toward my major, but it’s at a school that’s located RIGHT ON THE WATER.

yep– right on the water
How epic is that for a marine biology major?! Spring semester is when I get to start taking marine bio electives and courses, so I hope the fall flies by
Anywho, the move down was a total success–eeeeeven though being crammed in a U-Haul with with a dog for 9+ hours wasn’t the funnest thing haha

insanity of packing
My parents helped me move in my stuff and we managed to get it all done by Saturday! They stayed until this morning, though, to enjoy Corpus and enjoy a mini vacation

BEFORE

AFTER!

kitchen!

da viewwwww
We also all went to campus on Monday so I could check out where my classes are, get a parking permit, pick up some books, and make friends with some wild cats haha
This school is my dream school. My apartment is better than anything I could’ve ever dreamed. The location is heaven. I finally feel like this is the path God wanted me to be on all along!
One difference: Kovu had to go back home with my parents.
He could never relax in the apartment and it was torture for me to see him like that. Also, when we left him alone in the apartment for around 30 minutes, he ransacked the place aka shredded papers, destroyed part of my front door, and laid some massive turds in my room…yeah, he was angry. I started to get super stressed about having to deal with the issues of his transition along with being in a new town/apartment/school/etc. Thank God for the greatest parents ever– they offered to take him back home with them until things settle down a bit– then we can try again once I’m situated and once he’s a little older and can handle being left alone. I miss him, but I know it’s for the best. AND there’s always skype
~~~~
I have a lot of posts coming up with reviews, trainer updates (eeeee!!!), and a giveaway, so stay tuned!
Well, I gotta go get everything in order for tomorrow. AHHHH The future is so bright and beautiful, I’ve never been this happy in my life!
I hope y’all have a wonderful night– thank you SO much for all the support and love during this exciting time in my life!
Are you a fan of moving? What’s your favorite college memory?
SO glad you’re happy! Doesn’t it feel amazing?? I seriously feel like I’ve been on cloud 9 for such a long time and I just don’t want it to end. Sorry Kovu had to take a little vacation away from you
Hopefully he’ll be back in no time!
P.S. If we are ever near each other, we should totally meet up!
Umm heck yes to feeling like you’re on cloud nine and a BIGGER heck yes for a meetup!!!
Moving is always so stressful but you seemed to be doing great
! So glad that you already love your new college and am sure the year is only going to get better and better! And for what it’s worth, I’m sure you’ll be back with Kovu before you know it!!
oh gosh I am so happy for you. Man you looked more moved in then I do and I have been in my place for four weeks. whoops…. man you have a crazy schedule but all fun stuff. my sister studies marine biology and this semester she is going to… wait for it…. turks and cacos (spelling?) to a research facility. oh man i want that major!
Dude that’s amazing!!!! I would die if I could go there, how cool! She’s gonna have so much fun
Congrats Alex! So happy for you
Your happy spirit is infectious <3
SOO EPIC!!!!! gah its so great to read this, you’re totally in your natural habitat and in a great groove now
your apartment looks great, and it’s so you! Hopefully Kovu settles down soon, definitely a good decision to let you both get settled before taking care of him – it really is a huge job taking care of a dog all by yourself, I didn’t realize that till dog-sitting this summer!
Sooo excited for you!
I am SO SO excited for you to begin your new journey in Corpus Cristi, and can’t wait to hear about your first day! Your apartment looks fantastic! You’re so lucky to live within such close proximity to the water–I’m jealous! :-p Maybe this just means I need to trek south to visit you, yeah?
I’m sorry that things didn’t work out with Kovu in the apartment; I’ll be praying that he feels more comfortable there once you’re settled in! <3
Alexandra, I'm just so happy for you!! It brings me so much joy knowing that you're in the best place you've ever been!! <3 xoxoxo
Ahhh you sound SO happy! I’m seriously smiling so much for you right now. I’m so glad that everything is good and that you’re loving your new school!
Also your apartment looks so cute! Are you living with roommates?
I’m so sorry Kovu couldn’t stay with you!
I’m sure once he grows up a bit he’ll be able to live with you again!
Nope, just me this time around! And thanks so much Chelsea!!
I am so excited that you are excited for school! I am really sad that I am done school, I’ve always been the type to get excited when September rolls around. The apartment looks great, I am sure you are going to have a great time there
Reading this post makes ME so happy… I am beyond excited for you my darlin! You sooo so deserve to be happy and it really does seem like this school is the perfect fit for you, you have found your happy place fo sho
Love that it’s near the water and also your schedule looks awesome, perfect for your interests!
Good for you getting through nineee hours, gah I am not good at road trips, I get bored way too easily. Although, I am sorry to hear about the puppy (and the poopage situation in your room, gross man!) but perhaps eventually he will get to live with you. I am sure all of the moving around really threw him (and his bowels) for a loop
I can’t wait to hear how it continues to go and good luck with your first day of classes!
ahhhh move in day. I actually hate moving because I hate packing and I hate unpacking even more. ha but I love change, which is what move in day is and I love that exciting “back to school” or “change of school” feeling. (I’m on my 3rd university–it never gets old!) Your classes sound really interesting coming from someone who’s never taken any kind of animal science course
This post is AWESOME lady!! So glad that you are feeling this is Gods will for you and the direction He has paved out for you to go. You are going to do so many wonderful things, I just know it!!
Whoo! So much happiness!! Wow, your place looks great, even though I AM used to NY standards
The bay is so nice, too. I have never lived in a land-locked state, and don’t know if I could. I love the water too much!
I wish everyone was this excited about education! Your happiness makes me happy, haha. And I would totally go back to school if I could take fun/interesting classes like those science ones. Pretty sure I’ve been on that walking trail in CC, haha, unless the city has multiple ones just like it. Can’t wait to hear more about the new school/other good stuff!
I’m so glad that you’re happy!!!!! The apartment looks like a dream, and the college looks fab!!! I feel bad about Kovu, though.
So nice to see you truly happy- something I think most people struggle with. It’s funny you are so excited for school, I was never too excited to go back to school, except it meant I would done sooner! haha
I am SO glad you are happy
Your classes sound fun, and I hope they turn out to be!
Poor Kovu! Hope he joins you soon!
Oh I can’t tell you how happy and excited I am to read such a positive post from you Alex!! I’m just so pleased that everything is working out (apart from poor Kovu) for you, you really really deserve all the happiness in the world! Your apartment looks fantastic and the campus sounds great too
I’m wishing you a massive good luck for the start of classes!!
That last paragraph is so brilliant to read, congratulations, if saying that doesn’t sound weird! Glad you’re so happy.
There’s so much to comment on, I don’t know where to start – such an interesting schedule; i’d love to do ecology and zoology, your apartment’s lovely, right by the sea is brilliant… and Kovu’s face is a picture, so funny! Hope he can settle with you in future… and enjoy tomorrow! x
This makes me so happy to read, Alex! Congratulations on finding the path God wants for you– I’m sure your future at this new school will be promising and successful
Although I’m sad to hear about Kovu, I know it’s probably for the best that he went with your parents. Dogs are funny things– when Popcorn stays at Will’s house for merely a few DAYS, his temperament completely changes/ he becomes crazy haha.
Oh,I am so sorry Kovu didn’t feel the move at this very moment and had to leave again with your parents.
I really hope that when he’s older,he will be able to stay alone in the apartment without feeling so angry or scared,I bet he misses you just as much as you miss him!
Your apartment,though,is AWESOME! Gosh,I am dying of jealousy over here… Iw ish I had enough money to move out as I am slowly but steadily going crazy here…
This is sooo awesome (minus the puppy part)!! I am sooososo glad you love your location, I want to come visit stat!!
Aww I’m sorry about poor Kovu but I’m really happy for you!!! Enjoy your new apartment and school !!
Honey, I am so sorry your instagram progress picture got some hater responses. I never got to see it (just saw the post about taking it down) but I would have “liked” it and probably commented something along the lines of “get it girl! beast mode!” because you & your hard work deserve some props.
Please know that I am here for you, think you’re awesome, and will always send you an encouraging message when you want one
Love ya, mean it!
Awww Jess thank you SO much! You really rock
ahhhh I’m so excited for you!!! Will you take me as a roomie?? Pretty please, I promise I’ll behave better than Kovu.
Your apartment looks niiiice and that view? GORGEOUS! Dang you definitely are going to have one heck of a time there. Enjoy every minute!!
I am so glad I found you over here in your new corner of the web
And I love the layout!
Can’t wait to hear how classes go! They sound awesome
And also, love the license plates! My room is the same way!
LOOK AT YOUR PLACE SIS!!!!!! It’s soooooo YOU!!!!!!! This is most definitely going to be your BEST YEAR SIS!
Getting back to your email tomorrow! Love you to the moon and back <3 Kovu loves you
Ah, I’m sure you will find that going to a school that is RIGHT on the water is truly the best stress relief ever! When you are holed up in the library studying your little heart away, just looking outside at a body of water is so calming
I’m so glad you found the college of your dreams!
Don’t worry about Kovu! Like you said, there’s always skype!
I really loved that you said that. Haha, that’s something I’d like to see/hear about– skyping with a dog!
