So while I was killin time on instagram the other day, I discovered an amazing paleo-friendly protein bar company that boasted grain free, gluten free protein bars! They’re called Nosh Bar and let’s just say I kinda fell in love with their droolworthy pics.
Disclaimer– the following review is totally my opinion. The awesome Nosh Bar people didn’t pay me to say any of this, it’s truly how I feel.
Wanting to learn more, I checked out their website and was wowed by epic-ness:
“The Nosh Bar is an all-natural, gluten-free, grain-free nutritional bar composed with the following ingredients; pumpkin seeds, almonds, dates, dried fruit, organic virgin coconut oil, grass fed whey protein powder, raw honey, coconut, pure vanilla extract and sea salt.”
(You can read more about their ingredients and reasons why they use them here)
SOOOO I asked them about free samples, and they kindly offered to send me one of the “Almond Coconut Cranberry” free of charge to try. It got here super fast, too!
First of all, do me a favor and check out the killer ingredients and stats on this bad boy:
Now if that doesn’t scream super healthy and delicious, then I’m an 80 year old oompa loompa.
I packed it yesterday as a snack for my commute to campus and when I felt the hunger beast starting to wake, I tore into that package like a kid on Christmas morning.
Immediately, my truck went from smelling like old socks (ya it’s gross in there) to a LEGIT bakery!
The flavor was reminiscient of an oatmeal raisin cookie fresh outta the oven with a hint of almond thrown in there. I couldn’t really taste the coconut, but that was probably from my tastebuds being wowed by the overall nutty crunchiness. The cranberries scattered randomly throughout the bar, also gave a zing of added cran-licious flavor, too!
The texture was nice and cookie-like too– moist, crunchy, and chewy all at once. Some of the teeny nut pieces crumbled off and were a bit messy, but thankfully my shirt caught the morsels– there’s no way I could let any of it go to waste haha
I practically inhaled it, so I was a sad camper when it was over– my tastebuds just kept wanting more and more haha
Pros: Healthy, nutritious, and paleo-friendly ingredients, superb taste, portable, and is the perfect treat to tide you over between meals. Even if you’re not paleo, you can’t say no to such clean and delicious stats.
Cons: Not as big as I would prefer (I like big bars and I cannot lie ) and a bit crumbly…I don’t recommend eating it in the car haha
All in all, I really enjoyed this bar and would totally be interested in buying some in the future. Especially since they just came out with new CHOCOLATE flavors!
Thanks again Nosh bar for letting me sample your tasty treat!
